Last Fall I had the opportunity to go into one of Gloucester's historic landmarks. The old paint factory is an unmistakable red landmark on the Harbor.
There is a whale research organization that bought the building to restore it for their work. Prior to the work starting I was able to get some great images from inside the factory.

I'm starting a new project in my neighborhood in partnership with East Somerville Main Streets (www.eastsomervillemainstreets.org)
After my project in Gloucester (http://markteiwes.com/portraits/)
I wanted to have the chance to connect with my local community and take some great portraits in Somerville. We are also working on a cookbook project called "Savoring East Somerville: A Taste-based Guide to the Neighborhood" which will be published this fall.
Here's a picture from my first photo shoot at Fasiki, a great Ethiopian restaurant.

Saturday night I covered an A Cappella concert at Danvers High School. There were some great harmonies; Here is a slide show of the two of the most stiking soloists taking control of the stage.

After driving through snow & traffic from Boston, I was grateful to celebrate with the crowds on the Mall in DC. The spirit of optimism was tangilbly felt in the air at Obama's inauguration.
